Before you start

Please read the behaviour expectations here. You will be expected to follow them during your remote learning.

The Basics

Firstly make a note that the web address for the School home page is http://my.churcherscollege.com - that will then get you into Firefly easily, but you will need to click 'Staff and Students' and then login with your email and password.

So, it is ESSENTIAL you know your school username, email address and password to be able to sign in to Firefly and Microsoft OneDrive/Office online.

Q: What will I do if I forget my password?

A: You can get a 'forgot password' link sent to another email address. But this will only work if you have set up a personal recovery email address to reset your password, click here.

Files, Email and Office

You can read about how to access your files, school email and Microsoft Office here.

If you need access to files at home, which are stored on your school documents folder, follow this.

At home you are able to download and install the Microsoft Office software on your home computer to use while you are still enrolled at Churcher's College.

Firefly

Your teachers will use Firefly to set you work. You may have competition at home for using a shared computer, but you will need to be able to access Firefly at home. The mobile app is useful to view tasks on your phone, but you may need to go to the online version on your phone to submit files to your teacher/view materials.

If you are asked to submit work electronically, there are number of options - the easiest is to submit a file via a Firefly task, which you have all done in your Computing lessons. There are several videos here showing you how to submit files from your computer, from OneDrive and using the Firefly mobile app.

Update Feb 2022: we are aware that there are issues with the Firefly app, this is out of our control and would advise you to try the website instead if the app is not working

Submitting Work

If you worked on paper, you may wish to take a photo of it with a mobile device and submit it on Firefly, email it - or your teacher may ask you to put it on a OneDrive shared folder or insert it into a shared OneNote file. If a teacher asks you to send them a photo of your work, you may want to try Office Lens which takes a screenshot and makes it look neat and readable, better than a photo. Sometimes Microsoft Teams may be used to share files or even collaborative Class Notebooks with your class within the website/app and you may need to add to/edit those files (see the image on the right). -->

Virtual Lessons/Teams

Your teachers may also arrange a set time to have a 'virtual lesson' with you. For example using Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. They will likely email you to arrange something so KEEP A DAILY CHECK ON EMAIL.
